As-salaamou Alaikum and Hello!
My name is Nicole Scott-Amin and I will be teaching the grade 4/5/6 class this year. I am very excited to be part of the staff team at Tarbiyah Learning and am hoping for a spectacular year! I was raised in a small town in Southwestern Ontario and lived there until I moved away for university. I completed a Bachelor's degree in History at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. After graduating I completed an advanced diploma in Applied Museum Studies at Algonquin College here in Ottawa. History has always been a passion of mine and I love being able to share that with the community in many ways. After sharing this passion by working at a few small museums, I began working at Algonquin College as an Instructor, Lab Assistant and Academic Adviser in the Applied Museum Studies program. This is where I fell in love with teaching! I pursued this passion by completing my certification in teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language as well as my Bachelor of Education, which I completed at the University of Ottawa. I have had the opportunity to work with high school and middle school students in the past teaching math, history, anthropology, health and, philosophy. I am really very excited to be teaching at the junior level this year and cannot wait to see what the year brings! All the best, Mrs. Scott-Amin |
